What I have to say here today is totally my personal opinion. Takda kaitan dengan yang hidup ataupun yang telah mati meninggal dunia :p
I am not a fashionista, though I am inspired to be one. I am more of a plain Jane. I dress according to my personal preference, regardless whether it is the "in-thing" or not. I stick to my jeans or palazzo pants, plain tops(most of it) from almost the same colour palette (blue, brow and grey, though sometimes I do go for bold colours like red and orange) and my ballerina shoes or pumps. I believe fashion comes and go, but style remains. (Not trying to stay that I'm stylish, okay). I don't have to revamp my wardrobe everytime the new trend arrives, like how the skinny jeans, the big belts, the leggings and the "gladiator" sandals used to be a hit sometimes ago.
To me, being fashionable is very subjective. You got to understand your body and what's best to accentuate your figure. Remember, not everyone could carry that "aladdin harem pants"!. I swear by this mantra, "Less is more!" . For instance, women in hijab shouldn't be going for too much of layers because it just makes you look overwrapped! But what I'm seeing these days are fashion turning people into clowns. It's really fascinating to see how girls and women trying to be creative with their style, but at the same time being "the centre of attraction" for the wrong reasons.
Call me old fashion but I seriously think big bow on baju kurung waistline and on tudung (I don't get it!), print pants(tribal print, polkadot, zebra print) that look like pyjamas(it can be Zara or BCBG or whatever, but WTH?) , are among "over the top" fashion / style for me.
My two cents worth of advice : Wear clothes that makes you confident and comfortable because you should be "bigger" than what your wear! But in case you feel comfortable looking like a clown, by all means....hahahaha
